Self Catering Holidays in France

March 25th, 2009 by admin

For many years my family and I have been on a self catering holiday in France. If you want to avoid the cattle-truck scenario of a packaged holiday and the inevitable sales pitches for “excursions”, this type of holiday might be for you. Top Tip 1: Hire a large villa so you can invite everyone to stay –grandmothers, grown up children, their friends, aunts, uncles – it’s harks back to the heady days of the 1920s house party. This also breaks up the stay and means there are enough people to avoid family arguments. Top Tip 2: The self-catering part means an adventure into the local markets. This couldn’t be further from supermarket drudgery if you tried. Make sure you try specialities of the region. The cook in the family should also declare this their holiday, letting others experiment (just stock up on cheese, bread and pates to avoid culinary disasters!). For the less adventurous, self-catering means you can take along staples of Tetley tea bags and your son’s favourite breakfast cereal. Might be a good chance to try more adventurous tastes though! Top Tip 3: Go on excursions and explore the local area. Many towns and villages will have a Tourism Office with lots of walking guides, excursions and museums.

The legalities of online casino gambling

March 25th, 2009 by admin

Two developments were instrumental in the rise of online casinos and gambling. The first was the passage of the Free Trade and Processing Zone Act passed in 1994 passed by legislators in Antigua-Barbuda. This created a legal body from which online casinos could operate. Soon after man more governments passed similar legislation. The second event was the development of online encryption systems that would allow confidential transfer of funds between gamblers and casino website operators. By far the most popular online casino games are poker and lost machines. This mimics the popularity of these games in physical casinos. A great deal of business and profit for online casinos is sports betting. As reported on CNBC.com, online casinos are a boom industry generating $5 billon dollars in revenue a year with the US government agencies estimating that there are nearly 1,800 online casino websites in operation worldwide. One advantage of these websites is that they are a potential revenue stream for provinces and nations that otherwise are impoverished. On the other hand they can potentially lure many people into an additive habit. For better or for worse online gambling is clearly an industry shape commerce on the internet.

My Biggest Online Bingo Win

March 25th, 2009 by admin

I love playing bingo. My mother and I used to go every Saturday and play at the local hall. When I began driving truck I couldn’t go play so I, eventually, found a site where I could play online bingo. This required a computer, and a wireless internet connection to be able to play in my downtime on the semi truck; but that was not all that difficult with all the new technologies. So last weekend we, my husband was driving and I was playing Bingo online, travelled through Utah. The traffic was awful because of the wild fires that had erupted on the side of the road. The cops were routing the traffic down through a little town of Hurricane when I lost connection. I was so mad. When we got back up on the freeway, I got my internet connection back and my account had increased by over $5000 points. I was so thrilled because I’d won and the best part about it was the cards kept playing even after I lost connection.

Fun on a Motorbike

March 25th, 2009 by admin

I have had a number of different motorbikes in my life. I enjoy the off road adventures of dirt bikes, as well as the open road on the street bikes. They each have their appeal, and some people prefer one, while not liking the other. To me, 2 wheels is more fun than four. Of course they do have a little more risk involved than their 4 wheel counterpart, the automobile but by having bike insurance you know you’ll be covered wherever you are on the road. You are more naked, not surrounded by a couple tons of steel, so mishaps can hurt a bit more if you’re not careful. One experience I had was going through a nice little ‘S’ turn in at about 35 mph, on a 4 lane road. Right in the middle of the ‘S’, a car in the other lane decides to change lanes, directly into me. I had to swerve onto the sidewalk and dodge lamp posts, newspaper stands , all while trying to slow down from the 35 mph! I managed to avoid all obstacles, came to a stop, and sat there with my heart beating 10 times faster than it should. It proved to me that being careful still requires luck sometimes.

Compensation Claims: When You Can’t File One

March 25th, 2009 by admin

Making a compensation claim often occurs after having an accident, once the dust settles. A compensation claim for negligence would fall in this category. In this case you have to be able to show that someone did not take the care of you that you should have received when you were injured.
If you were the one responsible for your own injury, you will not be able to claim compensation.

Your solicitor will help you determine if you have a valid claim for compensation. In the case of medical or clinical negligence you’ll definitely be best served by obtaining legal council.

Sitting Tenants

March 25th, 2009 by admin

The current housing woes have created a nightmare for homeowners, not so for renters or sitting tenants. If you have money for first, last and security deposit, plus good references, you’d be surprised at how much house you can get for your rental money these days. If you are looking to live in an area that has a large number of condominiums, take comfort in the fact that rental rates have gone down as vacancies have gone up. According to a recent article in Parade Magazine of the Palm Beach Post, the vacancy rate on rentals in West Palm Beach has jumped 2.5%. Owners and investors are slashing rental rates to generate income. This is one way you can use the current downturn in the housing market to your advantage. Whether you are intent on renting a house or a condominium, first be sure to find out if the property you intend to rent in in foreclosure. If it is, look elsewhere for a place to live. You don’t want to be evicted from your home due to someone else’s financial problems. There are plenty of rental homes available and you just don’t need that kind of trouble in your life.

Online casinos have gained popularity

March 25th, 2009 by admin

Online casinos have gained popularity with a surge in internet users. Even as recently as ten years ago, there weren’t as many different kinds of online casinos as there are today. Now, there are thousands of different online casinos to choose from, with hundreds of different kinds of games available to play. Many people prefer to spend their time in online casinos as opposed to traditional casinos because of the simple accessibility. Visiting a gambling website is as easy as a few mouse clicks away, where there is a network of other players, as well as a multitude of available games to play. It takes the travel out of visiting a casino, and taps a well of new players who would otherwise be obstructed by accessibility to a real casino. Because of the surge of new online casino users, online gambling has become a very popular way to pass time. It has opened doors to a whole new group of players who might not otherwise visit a regular casino. It is a fun, easy way for a person to play games from Blackjack to Poker, without having to leave the comforts of home.

Memory foam

March 25th, 2009 by admin

Memory foam is made from polyurethane, with additional chemicals that increase its viscosity level, thereby increasing its density. In the early 1970’s, NASA’s Ames Research Centre funded a development project designed to create a substance that could help relieve astronauts of the incredible g-forces experienced during lift-off. They believed that one of the key secrets to reducing g-forces on the body was to use a foam material that could conform to each person’s shape and hold this conformity. While a foam mould of each astronaut’s body shape could accomplish this, any movement would take a person out of this position and create incorrect pressure points against the body.

Instead, they created a new foam material that was visco-elastic and therefore able to conform to a person’s shape, but then come back to a normal shape once pressure was removed from the foam. This would allow an even distribution of pressure or body weight over the entire surface of the foam, but quickly adapt to any movements of the body. These memory foams will offer you the best chance for reducing the overall pressure placed on your joints by contouring them without pushing back against them.
